It’s easy to see that I LOVE to photograph Weddings and Boudoir Sessions if you spend a few minutes checking out my website. What might not be so visible is how much I love to photograph Families! As much as I can say I probably love to photograph nearly *anything*, families are right up there on the list.
My favourite thing, especially if there’s kids involved, is to head out somewhere and have some fun where they can play and run and work off a little energy. Being focused on having fun and playing is way better than being focused on the strange lady with the camera This past summer and fall I had the pleasure of working with some families I’ve worked with before and are getting to know their children. It’s SUCH an amazing feeling to have a little one remember you. Every time I see them they’re more comfortable with me which makes the photos better every year.
Building relationships is so important to me as my business grows. From photographing the Boudoir Session, to the Wedding, to the children is something I strive for and part of the reason why I’m a ‘solopeneur.’ The on-going relationships are what means the most and keep me engaged on a personal level with my clients. It means I still love my work after 11 years because it’s my life and not just a business.
The nature of what photography offers is personal…emotional and real. That’s what most people react to when they see an image that makes them feel something. Family Love sessions fall right into that category for me. The moments between moments…where smiles, kisses and holding hands is real.
